Breaking Boundaries

Our keen eye on the future brings benefits both for us and the industry we serve. When we introduced recombinant DNA-technology to help us fight against viral and bacterial diseases, Intervet became the first company to develop commercial recombinant subunit vaccines for fish. One of these achievements was the first recombinant viral vaccine for aquaculture with the infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPN) vaccine component.

Our skilled team of scientists focuses on developing vaccines for high mortality diseases where solutions do not currently exist or where improvement is required.

Intervet is involved in many innovative developments for optimizing the application of vaccines in an increasing variety of aquaculture species and production systems. The health of fish and the concerns of the farmer are foremost in our minds.

We are fully committed to the development of new preventive measures to tackle the most devastating diseases - in ways that are safe for the environment.  To provide our customers with the most comprehensive and up to date disease prevention, technology and knowledge, we have specialist teams available to deal with problems experienced in the field.

And where sharing of knowledge and experience are needed, we organize regular meetings and workshops for customers.  We work together with our customers to make the best choices, and bring a depth of international experience to help farmers solve their problems and take advantage of their opportunities.

Over the last few years, we have also developed and launched the valuable series of Intervet Agenda articles, which are highly appreciated by our customers and scientific colleagues elsewhere. Although mostly published in Norwegian, we also plan to publish more and more in English.
